This was his favorite retreat and was built in the Indo-Sarcenic style. The palace has been converted into a museum in which are kept the war weapons, paintings and coins of Tipu's period.

The Mysore Palace or the Mysore Maharaja Palace is located in the heart of the city and is a treasure house of exquisite carvings and works of art from all over the world.
